CabFab Shelter Fabrics
Chemical and Biological Protection for Military Tents and Shelters
CabFab's Shelter fabrics are specially designed to provide provides impermeable chem/bio protection for military
applications. Developed in coordination with the Natick Soldier Center, CabFab meets the needs for military protection
from chemical and biological agent attacks at an affordable weight and cost. CabFab will provide collective protection
against all chemical and biological agents including HD, GD, and VX agents.
CabFab meets all requirements of the Joint Expeditionary Collective Protection (JECP).
Tents and shelters may be designed completely with the CabFab coated fabrics and still provide the necessary agent
protection. The use of CabFab in shelter design eliminates the need for protective liners, reducing overall system weight, costs, and setup time.
A shelter incorporating the CabFab fabric will provide significant more flexibility than stiff Teflon coated Kevlar
while providing the same levels of chemical agent protection.
CabFab will meet all the physical property requirements of LP/P DES 1-94B Limited Production Purchased Description
for Cloth, Chemical and Biological Protective. The fabric will also meet the requirements of Mil-PRF-44103. The coated fabric is compatible with
all current manufacturing technologies and requires no special equipment to use. Seaming of the fabric can be done either by RF or heat sealing using
one of our adhesive tapes. No stitching is required.
The tent material is available in colors of green/white, green/green, tan/white, and tan/tan. CabFab is available in widths up to 63 inches.
